Cafe Scene

What better place to create an atmosphere for work and relaxing than a cafe! Your cafe atmosphere can be at a brick and mortar building or within your own home! Your setup for this atmosphere is a bit easier than some of the others we’ve written about.

Whether in your backyard, or at a public cafe, setting up your cafe atmosphere can be relaxing while enjoying a great cup of coffee/tea and a snack.

Now, let’s hit on a few areas and you can see what I mean:

Away From Home

Traveling to a cafe away from home won’t be as difficult as some other areas we’ve focused on. When you find one you love, you already have some of the aspects below built in without the need to create it.

Sights

Cafes have been a site for writers, workers, and coffee/tea lovers alike. It’s a place with a great built-in atmosphere for you to enjoy without having to create it on your own.

Each cafe has their own atmosphere and aesthetics that draw people in from older hodge podge pieces to modern armchairs and tables for enjoying time with others.

Depending on the cafe you go to, you will probably see other people there of course, but you will also see their design influences on the walls and within the layout of the floorpan. I’ve been to one that had a rustic feel with wood accents and old tea kettles and baskets as lampshades. I’ve also been to one that loved rock and roll with wall accents that matched that genre. So depending on the cafe and it’s owners you could get very different sight details.

Sounds

The sounds you hear will also depend on location and how busy the place is when you go. It could be next to a main road where you will hear cars driving by and people chatting. On the other hand, you could find one on a side street where the traffic is less noticeable and there are less people there.

You’ll probably hear music, the steam of the espresso machine and the clinking of dishes and cups as people drink and eat.

Smells

Coffee! Or food, depending on which is stronger at the time. Obviously, coffee is the one that you’ll probably smell the most of, but that doesn’t mean you would get some other scents in there.

If you brought your own book to read and relax, you could smell the pages of the book, which is a fantastic smell. You could also get a scent of patties and chocolate depending on what’s being served.

The one thing you can sometimes smell, but hope not too, is the smell of cigarette smoke. Now, this depends on where you are at the cafe (inside or outside) It doesn’t happen too often, but it’s something to look out for.

Food/Drink

Cafes are known for selling coffees, teas, pastries, and some sell sandwiches and meals. What you can choose from depends on what the cafe decides to include on their menus. Not all are willing to offer meals and will only offer some pastries along with their drinks.

Some offer only basic coffee drinks like iced coffee, regular coffee, cappuccinos, and espresso; while others offer more ‘fancy’ drinks like Frappuccinos with cookies and flavors mixed in.

Home/Backyard Cafe

Creating a cafe atmosphere at home is quite easy to do. All you really need is a coffee maker, flavors if you want, perhaps and espresso machine, and of course coffee or tea.

Inside

Now, if you are staying in, you could create your cafe atmosphere in nearly any area of your home. At the kitchen table, in a living room chair, lounging on the couch, even in your bedroom. Anywhere where you are comfortable and can relax and read or get some work complete while you drink your favorite beverage and snack on your favorite treats.

To set up, all you need is the coffee/tea or other drink you are going to indulge in, the snack you are going to munch on and your work items or a good book.

Trying to keep the area to yourself may be difficult if you have young ones, teenagers, or even your spouse in the house. Keep that in mind as you decide where to set up your at home cafe.

Outside

Your backyard is a great place for you to set up your at-home cafe. If you have a table and chairs, a lounge chair, or even a couch, gazebo, or pool in your backyard, you can create a great cafe atmosphere.

You already have what you need if you love coffee or tea. All you need to do is set it up the way you want. Whether you’re working, reading or just relaxing.

Just imagine working at patio table, under an umbrella, with your favorite drinks, treat, and listening to your favorite music. Or lounge on a couch with a favorite book, your drink and treat within reach of the side table. Or you can lounge in the pool on a pool float, relaxing while you have a drink in the built in holder.

There are many ways you can enjoy a cafe setting at home. Use some creativity and you can create something you won’t want to leave your home for.

Finishing Touches

Once you’ve decided how you want your at-home cafe, you get to add any finishing touches you wish. Add some lights for an evening cafe atmosphere, a cooler for easy access to food and drinks, or pillows for a more relaxed atmosphere. You could also add music for some cafe a

The possibilities are endless for this unique backyard setting.
