Inspire From Afar

Inspiration can be found in nearly anything and everything around the world, from the largest mountain range to foreign cities. Finding those that inspire you can be an amazing experience and a magnificent journey.

Inspiration depends on you. What encourages and motivates you. Finding inspiration is not always easy. Here are some things to think about:

• What places do you dream of visiting?
• What areas and locations do you have a deeper connection with?

There are many places and objects afar that can inspire you and your activities.

Places/People to Think About

Let’s take a look at what could possibly inspire you, perhaps you need a different perspective as you see things in a new light.

Travel

Just talking about traveling can give you the inspiration you need to continue or finish whatever it is you started. How you will get there, who you will see, what you will eat, things you will do; there’s so much to be thought of when deciding to travel.

Any of those things can give you inspiration, including the not so good experiences like the irritation on a flight or rude people in line. If you’re writing a book and are including a flight, it’s good to capture all aspects of the experience, not just the good. You want to make it authentic.

No matter where you are going, you can gain inspiration from any form of travel you take, be it car, train, air, boat, of the power of your own legs. Find things around you that will inspire you.

Locations

There are so many places in the world you can visit, with such breathtaking views. From France to Australia to the United States, there are an abundance of locations that can inspire. All you have to do is look.

There are so many sights, sounds, food, art, and more to experience in locations further from your home. There is a reason why people love to travel, to go to other locations, to see what others see on a daily basis. To experience new things and find what inspires them to return.

Activities

Your inspiration could be peaked by the activities that you do away from home. I don’t live anywhere close to the ocean, but that wouldn’t stop me from going there to see it myself.

Architecture

There is nothing better, in my opinion, than going to other areas of the world and seeing the amazing architecture of the area. It is inspiring in itself and the imagination of the architects who created them is just astonishing.

From the French Quarter in New Orleans to the Pyramids, the cathedral of Notre Dame to the Arc in St. Louis, extraordinary architecture is all over. If you take the time to think what it took to build those amazing structures, some from centuries ago, that in-and-of itself should be inspiring.

People

Those you meet along your journey, whether at home or farther away can inspire you. Other cultures provide a different perspective from what you are used to seeing or doing. From eating to dancing, you’ll find many things that could inspire you.

Their fashion sense, their friendly or brash nature (to not be like that and look for the bright side), their overheard language are all things you can take inspiration from. There is a reason why authors people watch, they are looking for someone who resonates the characters they are writing to get real world experiences from. And who better than those who are from a different area to get ideas from.

Online Tours

WIth things as they are nowadays, people have found many ways to travel without actually leaving their homes. There are many online tours and searches that give you information, images and a sense of experience right from your own home. You can still see the architecture, the people, view the activities and food. Even if you don’t leave your house or even your living room, you can still travel beyond the confines of your home with the use of the internet!
