Traveling to different destinations is one of the easiest ways for writers and artist to get inspiration for their work. Just traveling alone can inspire different feelings and aspects that can be taken and used in pieces of art. Prepping for travel is a whole other can of worms: planning, packing, lists, juggling, kids, and so much more.

We’ve all had days of stress, frustration and annoyance. We’ve all faced scenarios that leave us desperate for an escape, some relaxation. For some that can be watching a TV show or exercising, while others escape into the interactive digital world of video games. 

Summer is almost upon us! The most popular time for traveling with friends and family and what better way to get started than to create a travel journal?

When you travel you get to see new things, learn new cultures and taste amazing new dishes. Get out of your comfort zone and do something new. This is where a travel journal comes in. You can create a travel journal with just a notebook and your imagination or you can order one with prefilled pages for you to fill out.

Us, as writers, require a continuous process of writing daily to meet your goals. Writing while traveling tends to throw that off wack, but only because we didn’t plan ahead. It can be discouraging or feel impossible to write while vacationing and traveling; just driving in the car may prevent you from getting anything done if you get carsick.

As summer gets closer and planning for parties in the back yard begin, we always seem to forget that there might be young ones coming over. So we decided to make a menu just for the kids. All of our children love strawberries, especially if they are freshly picked and what better way to eat a strawberry than to cover it in chocolate and wash it down with a kitty cocktail. The perfect fruity drink for the kids.

We, as humans have used literature to learn, investigate, and escape from reality. The stories and topics guiding us to understanding, discovery, and in the case of fiction, possible distant lands. With the adaptation into movies and TV shows you are able to see those stories come to life on the big screen. Then they entered the interactive world of video games where you are able to play as the main character; going on missions, finding artifacts and items, and defeating the enemies.

Earth day should be celebrated more than one day a year. Our planet needs to be cared for and kept clean for generations to come.

Writing poetry can be difficult, not only that, it’s not the easiest to read either. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t embark on that journey. Once you write your first poem, you’ll be on your way to even more success with this medium!

You may think that poetry and video games don’t mix. They are two totally different medias not meant to mingle, but it may surprise you by how much they work together. If you really think about it, I bet you’ve come across some sort of poem while playing a video game and may not have even realized it. As inspiration comes from the smallest to the largest instrument, video games too have been inspiring to the other arts.

There are so many things in the world children can do. They are resilient and spontaneous. They believe they can do or be anything and we should help them accomplish their dreams. Writing isn't a hot topic for young children, but once in a while you get that one that wants to be a writer when they grow up. Don't discourage them, encourage a young writer to be the best they can be.

The spring season is upon us and though the weather may not always show the sunny warmer days we crave after a long winter, we can still enjoy the sunny days that do show between the ”April showers”. We’ve begun to put away our winter gear, not quite ready for shorts (unless you’re my kids) and t-shirts, but ready to enjoy without hats and mittens, watching the renewal of the earth.

Writers are always looking for ways to improve their writing and create a better flow of words as they create compelling characters and fascinating worlds. Poetry has been known to provide a wealth of perspective and skills to the writer that aids in the writing process.
